"Dance Collage '92," the annual concert by students of the Dance Repertory Workshop at the University of California, Davis, will be presented Thursday through Saturday, April 23-25, at the campus's Main Theatre. All performances begin at 8 p.m.
The workshop is a class consisting of dance students from the UC Davis physical education department, who choreograph and perform dance numbers in a broad range of styles, including jazz, modern, tap and ballet.
The featured attraction is a modern piece choreographed by Ray Tadio, a professional dancer and choreographer who has performed with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, and worked in Belgium, France, Italy and the Caribbean. Tadio came to teach his piece to the workshop dancers from his residency at Stanford University.
Also featured in the concert are a jazz/tap piece by Michelle Coad and Gia Solari, an earthy jazz number by Jesse Rivera and Dave Schrag, and an all-male piece choreographed by Maggie Summer.
Tickets cost $6 for general admission and $5 for students, and may be purchased at the Campus Box Office or any BASS outlet. For more information, call the box office at (916) 752-1915 or Bobbie Bolden at (916) 752-4706.
