Associate music professor Pablo Ortiz is one of a handful of faculty and staff members who host a weekly show on the campus radio station, KDVS. The student-run station is holding an on-air fund-raiser April 10-16. Listeners are asked to call in and pledge their support during the week at (530) 752-0728 or to pledge online. This year $100-donors can come down to KDVS and program their own hour-long radio show. Besides tango-expert Ortiz, other faculty and staff members who moonlight as deejays include Bill Wagman from information resources, who specializes in an eclectic mix of folk, roots rock and country; Peter Schiffman from geology, who alternates a Saturday morning folk music show with Robin Fawx from dermatology; Steve Scott from the library, who hosts Latino music; and Gary Saylin from the library, who offers listeners world music.
