Tien to be Arraigned in Yolo County Superior Court Today

Johnny Shao Tien will be arraigned on charges of attempted murder and aggravated mayhem in Yolo County Superior Court in Woodland at 1:30 P.M. TODAY. Tien was arrested at his Rowland Heights home early Saturday after a University of California, Davis, student was stabbed Friday morning in her campus apartment. He was an acquaintance of the victim and had taken a Summer Sessions II course at UC Davis in 1999. The victim, a 20-year-old sophomore whose name is being withheld due to the nature of the attack, was treated at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento over the weekend and released. She has a punctured lung and stab wounds to the chest, back and shoulder area but is expected to make a full recovery. DIRECTIONS: Yolo County Superior Court is at 725 Court St. at the corner of Third and Court streets. Tien will be arraigned in Department 8.
