Leading thinkers on topics of the mind, brain and behavior will speak at UC Davis this spring during a lecture series titled "Science of the Mind."Michael Posner, a University of Oregon psychology professor and a pioneer in combining neuroscience and cognitive psychology, will speak Wednesday, May 7, on "Educating the Human Brain: A View from Inside." On May 28, New York University psychology professor Susan Carey, a world authority on the development of perceptual and cognitive functions in humans, will lecture on "The Developing Mind."Both lectures will take place at 4:10 p.m. in Room 1100 of the Social Sciences and Humanities Building. The "Science of the Mind" lecture series looks at the human mind and brain from an interdisciplinary perspective that includes work in philosophy, psychology, anthropology, linguistics and medicine.
