Trivia Masters Stump Listeners With Student Radio Show

Who composed the theme music for the television show "Lost in Space"? What is the composition of the capstone that sits atop the Washington Monument? Was the U.S. mainland ever bombed by the enemy during World War II and if so, where? If answers to those questions leave you empty-headed then you're not alone, say trivia experts Brian "Brain" Stokle and "Smarty Marty" Beran, both UC Davis students and hosts of a campus radio show called "TriviaMaster." Heard weekly on UC Davis' radio station, KDVS, Stokle and Beran run one of the most popular shows on the 5,000-watt F.M. student-run station. Described as a zany, chaotic game show with lots of personality, "TriviaMaster" and Stokle and Beran challenge their listeners. Sometimes the questions are tougher than those on "Jeopardy," the popular television game show, say the hosts. The one phone line accessible to the show is usually jammed with listeners vying to answer a question so that they can turn the tables with a question of their own. If a member of the audience stumps the game-show hosts, than he or she receives prizes.
