UC Davis Appoints Key Performing Arts Center Campaign Staff

In preparation for publicly launching a $30 million campaign to build a performing arts center, the University of California, Davis, announces the appointment of Elizabeth Bishay as director of major gifts and Jacquelyn E. LaDue as campaign manager. Bishay and LaDue will provide leadership for the Center for the Arts campaign along with Virginia Kelsch, associate vice chancellor for University Relations. "Elizabeth and Jacquelyn have an outstanding background in fund raising. They know our campus and the region well and will be able to hit the ground running," Kelsch says. Bishay came to UC Davis in 1994 from Stockton, where she had served as executive director of The Women's Center. As director of development for UC Davis' Division of Biological Sciences, Bishay recently completed a campaign to equip the new life sciences facility for cellular and molecular research. Bishay is a graduate of Professional Children's School in New York, where she studied ballet and theater dance with The American Dance Machine before attending Haverford College. LaDue joined UC Davis in 1988 and has served as director of the Children's Miracle Network at UC Davis Medical Center since 1991. By her final year as director, LaDue brought the program's annual total to more than $800,000. The Children's Miracle Network provides ongoing funding for the pediatric programs at the medical center. The performing arts center campaign will bring a new 1,800-seat performance hall and a smaller studio hall to the Sacramento region, providing a much-needed venue to increase the region's ability to promote performing arts talent. The theater also will provide additional gallery space to feature the work of area artists.
