UC Davis Receives Multiple Awards from Education Council

UC Davis recently walked away with a handful of awards and honors from the District VII Council for the Support and Advancement of Education annual meeting. Gina Kelsch, associate vice chancellor for university relations, was given the district's Tribute Award in honor of her many contributions to the profession of university fund raising, which include service on the council's International Board of Trustees. In addition, UC Davis Medical Center's "Health Journal," produced by Medical Sciences Public Affairs, won an Award for Excellence in the "Best Tabloid Publication" category. "Twenty-five Years of Excellence," created by the same department won another Award for Excellence in the "Best Package of Promotional Materials" category. Also, collectively, the UC Alumni Associations of Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz have been selected by CASE District VII to receive three awards: an Award of Excellence for best volunteer program, an Award of Distinction for Career Assistance and an Award of Distinction for Special Events. The campus also received an Award of Distinction in the Stewardship Program category for a "UC Davis Fund-Raising News" insert in "Dateline," the faculty-staff newspaper.
