-- A publication by a research team from the UC Davis Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Neuromuscular Diseases has been awarded the 1998 Academic Physiatrists Excellence in Research Writing Award. The team is led by led by Mark Wineinger, assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation. The co-authors were Ted Abresch and Sandra Walsh from UC Davis, and Greg Carter from the University of Washington. The research paper, "Effects of Aging and Voluntary Exercise on the Function of Dystrophic Muscle from mdx Mice," was published in the January/February 1998 edition of the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
