Duy Pinai, 20, was arrested early Sunday morning by University of California, Davis, police officers on two sexual assault charges. Pinai was charged with assault with the intent to commit rape and genital penetration by a foreign object. The UC Davis student was arrested shortly after the incident was reported to the police department by the female victim, who also is a student at UC Davis. Both Pinai and the victim live in Castilian Hall on Wake Forest Drive in Davis. The assault happened in the university student-housing complex following a party there Saturday evening. The assault occurred at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, when Pinai allegedly entered a room where the victim was sleeping. She was treated and released from Sutter Davis Hospital.
