The Davis Police Department has reported that early this morning, UC Davis senior David Thornton, 21, of Fresno, died from a possible alcohol overdose. UC Davis will hold a media availability regarding this tragic incident this afternoon. WHEN: 2 p.m. WHO: A spokesperson from the City of Davis Police Department, UC Davis Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Carol Wall, officials from UC Davis health center, housing and counseling offices who will address campus alcohol prevention and education programs, as well as discuss campus policies regarding alcohol use. WHERE: In front of Mrak Hall, the main campus administration building. DIRECTIONS: Take UC Davis exit on Interstate 80, head north. At stop sign, turn right on Old Davis Road. Turn left at stop light. Mrak Hall is white building on the traffic circle. Media can park without charge at UC Davis; unmarked vehicles must have a press identification or business card on the dashboard.
