Tax day comes in one week. Do you purposely not prepare your own tax form because it's too painful and too difficult to understand those specialized terms used by the Internal Revenue Service and accountants? Now there is help available, according to Michael Maher, accounting professor at the Graduate School of Management at UC Davis and a collaborator to a new book titled "Accounting: The Language of Business." The book was designed to help accountants be more consistent with terms they use and to help business professionals understand the language that accountants speak, according to Maher. In addition to providing a detailed glossary of accounting terms, the book is an authoritative guide for professional financial officers and for consumers who are making their annual visit to the accountant for help in filling out their income tax return.
