Unity, Cultural Celebration Emphasis of La Raza Cultural Days

The 28th annual La Raza Cultural Days at the University of California, Davis, will begin Saturday, May 3, and conclude Thursday, May 8, with activities focusing on the theme of celebrating "our cultures through the unity of our people." Highlights of the celebration include a reception for Edward James Olmos, actor and Chicano/Latino activist; a dance performance by Danzantes Del Alma; discussions about Chicanas/Chicanos in higher education; and the annual Tardeada, an all-afternoon event of live music, dance, car exhibits and a health fair. Most events are free and are open to the public. Event highlights include: • UC Davis 28th Annual Tardeada with 10th annual Cuautehmoc run/walk, health fair, live music, children's fair, food and crafts.
