Unity, cultural celebration emphasis of La Raza Cultural Days

Celebrating "our cultures through the unity of our people" is the theme of the 28th annual La Raza Cultural Days at UC Davis, beginning Saturday, May 3, and concluding Thursday, May 8.Highlights of the celebration include a reception for Edward James Olmos, actor and Chicano/Latino activist; a dance performance by Danzantes Del Alma; discussions about topics such as Chicanas/Chicanos in higher education, politics, and the Islamic influence on Spain and Central America; and the annual Tardeada, an all-afternoon event of live music, dance, car exhibits and a health fair.
