Update on LEHR Cleanup is Subject of Public Meeting

A public meeting to review ongoing environmental investigations and cleanup activities at the former Laboratory for Energy-Related Health Research site at the University of California, Davis, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24, on the main campus. Sponsored jointly by the U.S. Department of Energy and UC Davis, the meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Orchard Room, located in the University Extension complex on Extension Center Drive near the Hutchison Drive entrance to campus. Free parking passes will be available at the parking lot entrance. Comments and questions from members of the public are welcome. The principal subjects for discussion will be the status of current environmental investigations at the site, the operation that begins this month for the removal of low-level radioactive sludge, and future activities planned for the LEHR site by DOE and UC Davis.
