Vet Med Professor Receives Honors from Czech University

Professor Emeritus Clyde Stormont has received from a Czech university the Doctoris Medicinae Veterinariae Honoris Causa for his pioneering work on animal blood groups and biochemical polymorphisms. The honor came from the Universitas Veterinaria et Pharmaceutica Brunensis in the Czech Republic. Stormont, in the School of Veterinary Medicine's Department of Population Health and Reproduction, and his coworkers discovered most of the major blood group systems of cattle and horses, which led to the development of the animal parentage control industry for breeding organizations.
