Contrary to popular belief, veterinarians spend more time dealing with people than with animals. That and other parts of the job can be stressful, according to veterinarian and family therapist Dr. Cecelia Soares. Soares is a clinical instructor at the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. On Wednesday morning, July 31, Soares will share some tools for stress management for a profession that is just beginning to acknowledge the problem of burn-out. The key is flexibility and adaptability, she says.
