Visual Merchandising Props on Exhibit at Design Gallery

Exhibit Title: "Fantastic Fabrications: Visual Merchandising Props Designed by Edward Martinez" Date: Oct. 9 to Nov. 17 Where: Design Gallery First floor, Walker Hall University of California, Davis Hours: Noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday 2 - 5 p.m. Sunday Reception: 2 - 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8 Artist: Edward Martinez Fantastic polyurethane forms designed as visual merchandising props will be the subject of the UC Davis Design Gallery's opening exhibition this fall. The props will include melting columns from Pompeii, a Tyrannosaurus Rex emerging from a primordial forest and four-foot angel wings flying overhead. Edward Martinez, the exhibition designer, has worked as a retail store designer creating environments for clients including Jessica McClintock Inc. and Levi Strauss and Co. He is the principal of EMf, a San Francisco-based business that manufactures products, furniture and fixtures for department stores. The reception and the exhibit are free and open to the public.
