-- The Quality Education for Minorities Network recently selected William Jackson, a chemistry department professor and chair at UC Davis, as a recipient of the network's 2001 Giants in Science Award. The award recognizes minority scientists who have been identified by their students and colleagues as outstanding mentors, teachers and researchers. He is one of five individuals nationwide honored recently during the 10th annual network conference.
