Top women scientists in leadership roles in industry, government, academia and private laboratories will share strategies behind theirsuccess at the "Leadership Development for Women in Science" conference March 18-20 at UC Davis.
The meeting opens with an update on national science and technology policy by M.R.C. Greenwood, associate director of the Office of Science & Technology Policy, who is on leave from serving as UC Davis graduate studies dean. Sponsored jointly by the Association for Women in Science, and Graduate Women in Science, the meeting also features a keynote talk by Mary Clutter, assistant director for biological sciences for the National Science Foundation.
"In a way, this conference signals the future of women in science," says co-coordinator Leslie Sunell, assistant dean of graduate studies at UC Davis. "It extends the continuum beyond education and career advancement into the most influential level, where one's contribution shapes the environment for everyone."
