Works by UC Davis Design Alumni in Exhibition

Exhibit Title: "Design Alumni Invitational -- 10th Anniversary Celebration" Date: Oct. 5 to Nov. 13 Where: Design Gallery, located in Room 145 of Walker Hall, University of California, Davis Hours: noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 2-5 p.m. Sundays Reception: 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4 In recognition of its 10th anniversary, the Design Gallery, located in the environmental design department at UC Davis, has assembled an exhibition of works by several alumni who represent a variety of design fields. Ellen Hauptli, a fashion designer in the San Francisco Bay Area, will have one of her garments in the show. Dave Rible will be represented by one of his glass sculptures. Based in Sacramento, Rible does mostly commissioned work for architectural firms and private individuals. David Tisdale, now working in New York, will loan a number of the anodized aluminum household and kitchen items he has designed, including flatware, coasters, salt and pepper shakers and napkin rings. Debra Nichols of San Francisco, who specializes in the design of signs, will provide several examples of her work. She recently completed an assignment for IBM headquarters in Dallas and currently is working on a redesign of signs on the UC Davis campus. Also featured in the exhibition will be furniture, architectural renderings, interior designs, installations and a video presentation.
