YWCA Highlights Two Faculty Members for Contributions

The YWCA recently honored two UC Davis faculty members during the 12th Annual Tribute to Outstanding Sacramento Area Women. Law lecturer Margaret Johns received one of the organization's major honors, the Human Rights Award, to recognize her significant contributions to teaching and public service, including the establishment of a new Civil Rights Clinic at UC Davis. Johns also provides pro bono services to indigent clients throughout the region, and chairs the Eastern District of the California Advisory Panel for Prisoners' Civil Rights Cases. Extension Poultry Specialist Francine Bradley from the Department of Avian Sciences has been named the Sacramento YWCA's 1994 Outstanding Woman in Science/Trades. She was recognized for promoting women, acting as a role model, and, specifically, for her work in documenting the history of women's central role in poultry production.
