A minor in anthropology is an ideal complement to virtually any major at UC Davis. For the minor, the Department of Anthropology offers students a choice among four curricular options:
How does the universe work? The study of physics attempts to answer this question by examining the smallest subatomic particles, atoms, molecules, stars and galaxies.
How is the twitch of a muscle fiber related to the silent explosion of a supernova? Every happening in the universe is linked at an atomic level by the principles of chemistry.
Interested in a degree in chemistry, but don’t have the room in your study plan to complete a double-major? Have you considered pursuing the minor instead?
Do you want to work abroad one day? A major in Chinese is the gateway to the world’s most widely spoken language and to the rich and diverse traditions of a complex society.
How does the mind work? This is the foundational tenet of cognitive science.
The study of economics is the study of choices. How should a society allocate and distribute its resources? Which needs should have the highest priority and which are less important?
The minor in environmental geology examines the multidisciplinary factors of geology and related earth science fields, as well as planning and resources oriented programs.
