Statement: UC Davis Mourns Student Lincoln Wells Sabini

We are deeply saddened to share that Lincoln Wells Sabini was the UC Davis student who died following a collision between a car and a bicycle on Hutchison Drive, near the West Village housing area on April 13.

Lincoln was a second-year student majoring in sustainable agriculture and food systems. He participated in the UC Davis triathlon sports club, was a swimming instructor with Campus Recreation, and worked on the UC Davis Student Farm. Lincoln was a graduate of McClatchy High School in Sacramento.

“This is a very painful loss for our community. We share our deepest condolences with the family and mourn with all those who knew and loved Lincoln,” said Chancellor Gary S. May. “I’m grateful to the first responders who worked heroically at the scene. We will remember Lincoln and find comfort in the many friends he made during his time here.”

Students in need of immediate mental health support can call Student Health and Counseling Services at 530-752-0871. Faculty and staff can reach out to the Academic and Staff Assistance Program, which serves the Davis and Sacramento campuses.
